21st Century Teaching and Learning:
21st century teaching and learning at Austin High School is a continual learning process that engages both teachers and students in critical thinking and problem solving though communication, collaboration, innovative design, and utilization of digital tools. Learning is personalized and students are self-directed in showing mastery of content knowledge. Students transfer their understanding of content to new situations and by doing so, develop a greater sense of who they are, how they fit into our ever-changing world, and how they will contribute their many strengths and talents into the future.
Blended Learning: a blend of traditional and e-Learning that occurs in a flexible learning environment in which students have control over time, path, and/or pace.
Service Learning: the successful integration of community service and the ability to reflect on the experience as an outcome of social and emotional growth.

Hours for new student registration are from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. each day. A prospective student or parent may come by the registrar's office and pick up an enrollment packet any time during the day, but actual registration hours are in the mornings only.
These guidelines are the basics upon which department will build their own grading guidelines. Individual teachers will work within their Professional Learning Committee's (PLC's) and departments to coordinate their classroom policies to follow district, campus, and department procedures.
