AUSTIN ISD BILLBOARD ART CONTEST WINNERS

  • Please congratulate these two amazing artists on their accomplishments. Last month, students from Austin ISD participated in an art contest for our annual Youth Art Month show. Students were to create a design that will be displayed on multiple billboards across the city of Austin. The theme for this contest was - art has a story to tell. Austin High's advance drawing students were awarded Second Place, Heidi Schultz, and Third Place, Colleen Pettit. 

SCHOLASTIC Art WINNERS

  • Scholastic Art and Writing Contest is known for being the most fresh and relevant look at creative work by young artists today. If you want to know what issues are on the minds of teenagers, this contest provides valuable insights through the lens of sophisticated and captivating artworks. Austin High's advance drawing students were awarded three Scholastic Silver Keys, Sabrina Barlin, Mielle Pena,and Josh Najera, and two Honorable Mention Awards, Colleen Pettit and Summer Shield.

YOUTH WESTERN ART SHOW WINNER

  • The Youth Western Art Show is an exciting competition that enables students to express their creativity in the form of western art, while earning money to put towards their future. Students from Texas grades 9 - 12 enter their western-inspired artwork in the areas of traditional, photography, digital and sculpture/3D. Austin High's advance drawing student, Alexandra Gamboa, was awarded Third Place in photography.
