Six Austin ISD high schools are among the best in the nation, according to the 2016 U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Capital Area Optimist Club, in honor of Youth Appreciation Week, recognized students from local Hgh Schools on April 10th at the Texas State Capital.

The Austin High Theatre Department performed their best yet at the contest on Saturday. Although they were not selected to advance, they represented Austin High and AISD with Excellence and earned some outstanding acting awards. 

Foreigner is proud to join the GRAMMY Foundation® in an effort to help keep music education alive in high schools all over the country. The band has donated thousands of dollars to individual schools and to the GRAMMY Foundation®, and you can help too!

Saturday, The Red Dragon Players competed in the UIL One-Act Play Bi-District contest. This was the third level of competition, and several students came away with recognition.

Project Lead the Way, is a non profit organization that gives these students hands on learning in STEM(science, technology, engineering, math) programs.

The Stephen F. Austin High School Continuing Education Foundation has selected 20 Austin High Seniors to receive scholarships for $2,000 each. This brings to total scholarships awarded by the foundation to $230,500.

The Red Dragon Players advanced to Bi-District tonight winning three individual awards. Liz Kolb was named an Outstanding Technician. Indigo Raetz was named to the All Star Cast, and Henry Wheatley-Rutner was named to the Honorable Mention All-Star Cast. 

After 4.5 hours of dance workshops on Friday, March 11th, our choreographer, Victoria Carr, and two of our officers, Monica Magallanes and Laura "Vicky" Ortega performed in a showcase prior to the first of two mariachi concerts at the Viva Aztlan Festival in Lubbock, TX

From November 2014 through October 2015, the Austin High CAC conducted research regarding the benefits of not ranking students below the top 10 percent of the class.
