Hooray for Austin High, the only Austin school to make it to the big show! And with an entry in both the Narrative and Documentary categories! I really hope one of these productions brings home the title this year. I'm getting tired of second place!

Please congratulate, 11th grade Austin High swimmer, Grant Reed, on a great performance at the UIL State Swimming Championships this past weekend! Grant placed 2nd in the 200 Yard Freestyle (great race!) and 6th in the 100 Yard Freestyle.

 

The Austin ISD 2015–16 Parent and Families Survey is now open and accepting responses through Feb. 29. Parents throughout the district are encouraged to participate so they can share their feedback on district and campus performance.

Please congratulate 11th grade swimmer, Grant Reed. This past weekend in The Woodlands at our Regional meet, Grant qualified for the UIL State Championships in the 100 and 200 yards freestyle. The State meet takes place Feb. 19-20 at the UT Swim Center.

Congratulations to the Debate team on their success at recent tournaments.   Austin High has taken BOTH 1st and 2nd place at the Akins High School and St. Edwards University meets.

AUSTIN ISD BILLBOARD ART CONTEST WINNERS

Model UN class competed in the largest student-run conference in the country last week, MUNSA, in San Antonio and came away with three awards.

The following student athletes will be signing their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, February 3rd at 8:15am in the Maroon Room.

Keeth Matheny and 23 MAPS students facilitated the session "School Transformation Through A Social and Emotional Learning-Based Seminar Course" at the 2015 National Dropout Prevention Network Conference.

Last month, students from Austin ISD participated in an art contest for our annual Youth Art Month show. Students were to create a design that will be displayed on multiple billboards across the city of Austin. The theme for this contest was - art has a story to tell.

Out of 6086 entries from 85 different schools Austin High School placed 3 times in the ATPI (Association of Photography Instructors) Fall Photo Contest!  This is really big!
